The Remy' continued their good pre-season form with a 2-1 away win at Hallmark Security League Premier Division side Cammell Laird 1907.  Phil Stafford took over a strong squad to Birkenhead and whilst the starting eleven was full of familar names to the travelling Remyca support, he and his coaching staff did give opportunities to a couple of youngsters and new faces alike.

Remyca went behind just two minutes in when a slight lack of communication saw David Potter caught slightly off his line to allow the Lairds player to strike home.  Remyca levelled late in the second half when Colin McDonald bundled the ball over the line and then the winner came in the last few minutes of the game when Dan Ricketts bagged a winner.

It was a decent game, Remyca held a lot of possession in the game and created multiple chances but were just not able to stick too many of them away.  It was not all one way traffic though, Lairds looked a threat throughout and had a number of chances themselves but it was The Remy who finished with a win.

Next up for us is a double header on Saturday 23rd, the squad splits with a firsts side going to Capenhurst Villa with a squad/development side travelling to face Mossley Hill on the same day as we prepare for our unofficial season opener on July 30th against Prescot Cables.
