Bacup Borough 0 - 3 First Team (away)
K.O. 15:00 03rd September 2016Remyca got off to a fast paced start as they pressed Bacup early on and put the home side on the back foot. Chances early on for Remy couldnt be taken and the home side frustrated the visiting remyca side with some stout defending. On 13 minutes remyca won a corner and as it was cleared Quirk found himself wide on the left and a maizy run into the box he pulled the back back to Flynn who had stayed up from the corner and he fired home low into the bottom corner. Ten minutes later it should have been 1-1 when Bacup broke forward and as the striker got through one on one with Carrol he blazed over the top, Remy lucky to still be at 1-0. Remyca still having a lot of the ball without really hurting the bacup defence. A cross into the box was almost headed in by Quirk but struck the striker more in the face and fell wide. Boyle and Foley also had chance but bot firing wide before the HT whistle as the scoreline stayed 1-0 to Remyca.
Second half started and again remyca pressed with the home side keeper making a smart save from McGrane early on. Bacup still looked dangerous going forward but the final pass somewhat lacking at times. Remyca still could not get the goal to give them breathing space as the game became end to end and it was substitute McDonald who got the goal to give them just that as a ball in the box from Boyle was chested down by the striker and he calmly turned and struck the ball into the corner to put the Remy 2-0. This fired Bacup and they came forward but the Remy defence was staying strong and not giving anything away as they fought for the 3 points. It wa sin the last Minute when Remyca killed the game off and again it was Mcdonald with his second when a crosss from Aliu was dlected in by the strikers out stretched boot. 3-0 and a Clean sheet was a welcome site at the end of the gaem to put Remyca back into the chasing pack in the early months of the seon with the games coming thick and fast, a Home game up next versus oswestry beofre we make the short trip to City Of Liverpool who play at the Delta Taxi Stadium for the FA Vasegame next Sunday.
